Introduction DSGC
It is crystal clear that our future should be sustainable. With a world population reaching 9 billion people in 2050. The global challenges ahead are manifold. These challenges are of vital importance and need to be addressed now !
The role of business in society is changing rapidly and a growing number of companies is willing to contribute to the necessary transformation of society in a more sustainable direction.
Every company has the ambition to grow, but growth should not come at any cost. This requires that sustainable growth is integrated in the overall strategy and operations throughout the value chain and links economic growth with social and environmental progress.
For us, members of DSGC, sustainable development has become an important driver for business growth and innovation and it acts as a stimulus for a new type of doing business.
Together these 8 companies have decided to establish the Dutch Sustainable Growth Coalition. With this initiative we want to give more push to business growth that links financial and economic results with environmental and social returns.

Climate change

  • As DSGC we have strong opinions on climate change and the approach to tackle it.
  • We as DSGC acknowledge and support the wakeup call from scientists and policymaker about the urgent need for drastic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions to avoid irreversible climate change and the forecast disastrous effects on society, the economy and nature.
  • Climate change is a global issue and we are convinced that private companies will play a decisive role in tackling climate change. We as DSGC see it as their responsibility to act now and we call on other business leaders to do the same, to take responsibility and to act strongly.
  • We as DSGC companies bring our pledge to the table in taking responsibility for developing innovations, and new technology to reduce CO2 emissions significantly.
to reduce the environmental footprint of our activities
to support governments to agree on an global climate agreement
and to advocate for and stimulate the transition to a more sustainable and inclusive economy.
  • We want to be frontrunners in this respect
  • It is of great importance and we support that, that governments in the near future deliver :
a global effective carbon market as a primary driver for sustainable innovation, efficiency improvement and greenhouse gas reduction all over the world
an international carbon market that results in a global effective and meaningful carbon price
and an agreement which facilitates and support global market mechanisms.
