ECHO nr. 41: Invitation ICC: Webinar 'Trade controls: EU & US export controls and enforcement cases'

02-09-2020

Wednesday 30 September 2020, 14.00-17.00 hr., online

In Europe, sanctions and export controls are forcing themselves onto the corporate compliance agenda as never before. In the US trade war is discussed openly, with a constant need to find solutions. During the Covid-19 crisis the EU and US have continued to introduce new rules and enforce existing measures related to sanctions and export & investment controls. We explore compliance challenges associated with recent regulatory changes and discuss lessons learned for non-US companies regarding US enforcement.

Furthermore, the need for keeping up to date has never been so important. Recent international developments have broad implications for economic sanctions and export control regulation, posing a whole range of new challenges for European businesses. E.g. what could be the implications for our trade with Russia, China and Iran? What are the consequences of Brexit? These, and more, questions call for an update on trade controls from both a US and EU perspective.
